Introducing…

My New Book

Snapshots of China is an eclectic, lovingly-crafted collection of stories and character sketches, from the writing desk of intrepid expat Alison Mullins – a culmination of her years abroad thus far, written on location – from a humid, bustling city in the South of China. Weaving fiction and biography, Alison has assembled a set of writings that – for the attentive reader – will reveal not just a glimpse beyond the surface of a China in the midst of historic transformation, but perhaps something about ourselves, too.

You will meet students who are struggling in school or with relationships. You will meet business owners facing challenges in their business. You will meet children who are dealing with some of the adventures and difficulties that come with being kids, and you will meet people who are not Chinese who learn to adapt and love life in China. Each character has their own challenges, hopes, and dreams, and each of these characters shows a little bit about Chinese culture or Chinese thinking.

Mullins’ latest release is an invitation – to consider life from another perspective, the perspective of each character within its pages. So come, sit for a while and enter their personal worlds. I think you’ll find it’s a journey worth taking.
